On October 18th, 2009 – we have put a bid on this house and our offer was accepted. This started a long journey. We were tested in many areas in our spiritual walk, such as faith, trust, perseverance, giving grace, forgiveness, hope, having joy in all circumstances, etc. At times it was rough (when depending on ourselves and others) and at times we were at peace (when we depended on the Lord’s Grace instead). Thank you to all of you who have prayed with us and for us all these months.
On May 26th, 2010 – we have finally signed the papers and got our keys. For next while, I will be keeping you informed on the progress of our ‘project house’. This house will always have many projects for us but the main one is to get it to a ‘move in’ state.
Here are the photos from start to now.

THE SIDE – INCLUDING ALL THE TREES (MANY MANY TREES)

Unfortunately when a house is abandoned for a long amount of time, months and months in this case, it deteriorates. But even worse, for some reason people decide to use an empty property for a party ground and a dump ground. Since October, the house was vandalized, all windows broken (and now are boarded up), house broken into, doors and locks busted, air conditioning compressor stolen, and much garbage left in our yard. As you can see, the property has many trees and so we have many leaves to clean up since October and much grass to cut. (By the way….we started this weekend and I CAN’T MOVE since I am so sore..but it is FUN)

MUCH GRASS TO CUT

I think this gives you some idea of how much work we have ahead of us…..but we are looking forward to it and as for me…I LOVE THE CHALLENGE of the huge yard
. I am hoping that being able to work in the yard once again, I will lose those pound I gained when I moved to the city and got a ‘sitting down on my butt’ job. I already feel the muscles burning
! Thank You Lord for my MINI COUNTRY within the city!!!!
My hubby bought me a chain saw and I can’t wait to start using it – for I have many plans for my yard and the many gardens I want to plan. I better take some classes – the last thing I want is to cut my limbs off
. Stay tuned in for the updates as they happen.

yeah, you want to make sure you cut off the correct limbs.
Looks like lots of potential! Can’t wait to see the finished product!!
Such a beautiful lot!!!!
Hope you all can save those hardwood floors. So pretty. Tile in rec room looks good, too. Hope water didn’t warp the subflooring.
Hope it’s habitable soon.
Oh yes…we are keeping the Oak Floors…the whole upstairs is hardwood floors. I hope we can move in soon too…paying rent and mortgage is not going to be fun!
